According the music tracking firm, the collected performed songs on the NBC show logged 78.7 million on-demand streams on May 1 and May 2 — up 31% as compared to the two previous days (April 29-30; 60 million). (Not included in these figures are selections in the four-minute, 13-song medley performed by show host Kelly Clarkson, who sang snippets of tracks by other artists.)
Among the significant gaining songs: Madonna and Maluma’s “Medellin,” which vaulted by 261% in streams to 2.2 million (up from 596,000).
Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker” also scored a sizable increase in streams, rising by 81% to 7.8 million (up from 4.3 million).
Paula Abdul, who closed the show with a six-song medley of her hits, saw the collected songs she performed logs a 102% gain in streams – rising to 388,000 (up from 192,000).
