Country group LANCO hits the top 10 of Billboard‘s Emerging Artists chart (dated Sept. 30), jumping from No. 11 to No. 5, as the group’s single “Greatest Love Story” hits a new peak on the Hot Country Songs chart at No. 14.
“Story,” also LANCO’s first Billboard Hot 100 hit (at No. 82), rises in all metrics in its second week on the ranking, sporting 2.9 million streams (an 8 percent increase); 18 million radio audience impressions (up 8 percent); and 13,000 downloads sold (up 2 percent) in the tracking week, according to Nielsen Music.
The Emerging Artists chart (which relaunched with the list dated Sept. 2) uses the same formula as the all-encompassing Billboard Artist 100, which measures artist activity across multiple Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, Billboard 200 and the Social 50. However, the Emerging Artists chart excludes acts that have notched a top 25 entry on either the Hot 100 or Billboard 200, as well as artists that have achieved two or more top 10s on Billboard‘s “Hot” song genre charts and/or consumption-based “Top” album genre rankings.
Digital song sales contribute the largest share of LANCO’s Emerging Artists chart points (49 percent), followed by radio airplay (35 percent).
Pop singer-songwriter Dua Lipa tops the Emerging Artists chart for a second week, as “New Rules” reaches at new high on the Hot 100 at No. 56; A Boogie Wit da Hoodie climbs 4-2, as Chris Brown‘s “Pills and Automobiles,” on which the rapper is featured with Yo Gotti and Kodak Black, debuts at No. 98 on the Hot 100; Lil Pump jumps 10-3, as the rapper’s single “Gucci Gang” debuts on the Hot 100 at No. 81, earning the singer his first hit on the chart; and Carly Pearce rises 7-4, as her breakthrough single “Every Little Thing” bullets at No. 10 on the Country Airplay chart.
Elsewhere on the Artist 100, Alvvays arrives at No. 12, as the group’s sophomore studio album Antisocialites debuts at No. 14 on the Top Rock Albums chart and No. 82 on the Billboard 200.
