Billboard Dance Chart Upstarts: ZHU & Nero, Tim Myers & Alice Glass

ZHU & NERO, “Dreams”

Zhu, teaming with London-based electronic trio Nero (Daniel Stephens, Joe Ray and Alana Watson), zooms in at No. 36 on Billboard‘s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart (dated Sept. 9) with “Dreams.” The chart’s highest debut accumulated 603,000 U.S. streams in the week ending Aug. 24, according to Nielsen Music. It’s the 10th chart hit for Zhu and the fourth for Nero. “Dreams” is from Zhu’s new EP stardustexhalemarrakechdreams, which starts on Dance/Electronic Album Sales at No. 10.

Tim Myers, “Lover My Love”

OneRepublic co-founder Tim Myers mines his first Billboard chart appearance as a solo act as “Lover My Love” enters Dance Club Songs at No. 47. The midtempo pop-rock original was remixed by Dave Aude, Kahikko and Mauro Mozart. Myers, also a songwriter and producer for the likes of Kesha, Hailee Steinfeld and James Arthur, among others, is set to release his solo album Portraits (featuring “Lover”) Oct. 13. 

Alice Glass, Alice Glass (EP)

Alice Glass grabs her first Billboard album chart appearance with her self-titled EP, which bows at No. 11 on Dance/Electronic Album Sales. Glass is the co-founder of indie-electronic act Crystal Castles and, although her new release marks her first solo appearance on Dance/Electronic Album Sales, she logged four top 10s as a Crystal Castles member from 2008 to 2016.
