Billboard Dance Chart Upstarts: Loud Luxury & Bryce Vine, Mari Burelle, FISHER

Each week, Billboard Dance looks at songs & albums rising on Billboard's dance charts.

Loud Luxury & Bryce Vine, “I’m Not Alright”

Los Angeles-based DJ duo Loud Luxury (Andrew Fedyk and Joe Depace), teaming with Los Angeles-based singer/rapper Bryce Vine (aka Bryce Ross-Johnson), lifts onto Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart (dated July 27) at No. 22 with “I’m Not Alright.” The track earned 1.2 million U.S. streams and sold 2,000 downloads in the tracking period ending July 18, according to Nielsen Music. The latter figure is also good for a No. 5 start on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart. “I’m Not Alright” is Loud Luxury’s third appearance (and Vine’s first) on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, following “Body,” featuring Brando (which debuted in late 2017 but didn’t peak until this year, reaching 7 on Jan. 12) and “Love No More,” with Anders (No. 23, Oct. 2018).

Mari Burelle, “Let’s Hear It for the Boy”

New York-based singer Mari Burelle bounces up a spot on Dance Club Songs with “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” (37-36). It’s the first-ever Billboard hit for Burelle, a contestant on La Voz, Telemundo’s adaptation of The Voice of Holland, earlier this year. “Let’s Hear It” renews the Deneice Williams classic, which topped both Dance Club Songs and the Billboard Hot 100 in 1984. Burelle’s version was remixed by DJLW, SONIKSSP, and Chris Rosa, among others.

Burelle tells Billboard, “I’ve always loved this legendary hit and am beyond excited to cover it. I am all for woman empowerment, but I wanted to take a moment to celebrate our boys all over the world by updating this fabulous classic with a modern twist.”

FISHER, “You Little Beauty”

Australian DJ Fisher (real name: Paul Fisher) forages forward on two fronts with “You Little Beauty,” up 4-3 on Dance Club Songs and 29-26 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay. The track follows FISHER’s breakthrough, “Losing It,” which hit No. 1 on Dance Club Songs in December 2018 and reached No. 11 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay on January 5. “Beauty” boasts airplay on core-dance affiliates, such as Music Choice’s Dance/EDM channel, KMVQ-HD2 San Francisco, CA and SiriusXM’s BPM.
