Jauz featuring ROUXN, “Meant To Love You”
Los Angeles-based DJ/producer Jauz (real name Sam Vogel) jets onto Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart (dated Nov. 11) at No. 36 with “Meant to Love You.” The track marks the first appearance on any Billboard songs chart for both Jauz and featured vocalist ROUXN. “Meant” counts most of its radio play from three core-dance outlets: SiriusXM’s BPM, WFLZ-HD Tampa (an iHeartRadio “Evolution” affiliate) and KNHC (C89.5) Seattle.

Aprilann, “Crown and the Girls”
Daytona Beach, Florida, native and now New York City-based Aprilann (real name April Ann Panaggio) earns her first Billboard chart entry as “Crown and the Girls” starts at No. 49 on Dance Club Songs. The singer-songwriter, who also holds an associate of arts in acting degree from New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, has been opening for Akon on his U.K. tour, which continues through Nov. 7. “Crown,” written by Aprilann and produced by Artie Skye of Skyelabs, was remixed by Drew G., C-Rod and Maraud3r, among others.
Aprilann tells Billboard, “I wrote this song the day I realized that I had to be done communicating with this person [from a relationship]. It took a lot of denial on my part before I could finally accept it was done. I had the realization right after I got a text from this person cancelling some plans we had. I wrote the whole song on a bench outside of a Marshalls in the time it took my brother to find new sneakers and check out. I decided right then that instead of letting my anger out on him like every other time before, I’m going to write the best song I’ve ever written.”
Pretty Lights, “Rainbows & Waterfalls”
Producer Pretty Lights (real name Derek Vincent Smith) enters Hot Dance/Electronic Songs at No. 47 with “Rainbows & Waterfalls,” the first entry on a Billboard songs chart for the Denver native. Previously, Pretty put two sets on Top Dance/Electronic Albums, A Color Map of the Sun (No. 2, 2013) and The Hidden Shades: Four B-Sides and More Remixes… (No. 24, 2014). “Rainbows” roped in 344,000 U.S. streams and sold 1,000 downloads in the tracking week, according to Nielsen Music.
