Billboard Dance Chart Upstarts: Au/Ra & CamelPhat, Bob Moses & Syn Cole

Au/Ra & CamelPhat, “Panic Room”
Ibiza-born and Antigua-bred artist Au/Ra, teaming with U.K. DJ duo CamelPhat (Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala), debuts at No. 31 on Billboard‘s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart (dated June 16) with “Panic Room.” The first Billboard chart appearance for Au/Ra, “Panic” is the second Hot Dance/Electronic Songs entry for CamelPhat, whose “Cola,” with Elderbrook, climbed to No. 21 in January. “Panic,” originally released in February as a pop track without CamelPhat, has come to prominence in its much more danceable incarnation. The song earned 578,000 U.S. streams and sold 1,000 downloads in the tracking week, according to Nielsen Music.

Bob Moses, “Heaven Only Knows”
Vancouver, B.C.-bred and Brooklyn, New York-based DJ/production duo Bob Moses (Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance) bounces onto Hot Dance/Electronic Songs at No. 47 with “Heaven Only Knows.” It’s the act’s first visit to the chart, after crossover effort “Tearing Me Up” reached No. 37 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales in February 2016 and a year later hit No. 16 on Alternative Songs. Additionally, studio set Days Gone By peaked at No. 9 on Top Dance/Electronic Albums, also in February 2016. “Heaven” drew 297,000 domestic streams and sold 1,000 in the tracking week.
Syn Cole featuring MIO, “Who You Are”
Tallinn, Estonia-based producer Syn Cole swings 39-31 in his second week on Dance Club Songs with “Who You Are,” featuring vocalist MIO. Cole collects his second chart hit and first in four years: “Miami 82,” featuring Madame Buttons, reached No. 11 in June 2014. Cole previously won acclaim for his remix work, including official remixes of Avicii’s “Silhouettes” and “Hey Brother.” “Who” was remixed by Billon, Danny Verde and Joe Maz, among others.
