Alan Walker, “Alone”
Alan Walker earns the highest debut on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart (dated Dec. 24), as “Alone” arrives at No. 25. The track drew 853,000 U.S. streams and sold 2,000 downloads in the tracking week ending Dec. 8, according to Nielsen Music, the latter figure also sparking a No. 17 start on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales. “Alone,” which features uncredited vocals from Noonie Bao, is the third hit on the chart (all in 2016) for the Norwegian DJ, following “Faded” (No. 7) and “Sing Me to Sleep” (No. 18).
SOLANO & Landis, “Trouble”
Miami-based DJs/producers SOLANO (aka David Solano) and Landis land the leading debut on Dance/Mix Show Airplay, “Trouble” (No. 32). The first Billboard chart hit for each bows thanks to airplay from SiriusXM’s BPM, WFLZ-HD Tampa, Florida (an iHeartRadio “‘Evolution” affiliate), and Music Choice’s Dance/EDM channel, among others.
J Sutta, “Distortion”
Jessica Sutta, now known as simply J Sutta, jumps 43-33 on Dance Club Songs with “Distortion.” The track is the eighth solo entry on the chart for the former member of The Pussycat Dolls, who counts three solo No. 1s, along with six leaders scored by the group. Remixes from Dave Aude, Ivan Gomez, Alvedon and more are helping “Distortion” be heard loud and clear in clubs.
