Beyonce’s roll continues as “Drunk in Love” jumps 4-1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs to mark her seventh chart-topper as a solo artist. (She also led the list four times as a member of Destiny’s Child.) Bey’s last leader on the chart was 2011’s “Love on Top” which ruled for seven weeks in 2012. The jump by “Drunk” also marks featured artist Jay Z’s 10th No. 1 on the chart and first since “Ni**as in Paris,” alongside Kanye West, led for seven weeks in 2011.
Following Beyonce and Jay Z’s performance of “Drunk” at the Grammy awards on January 26, the track gains across all three of the chart’s metrics. It takes home the week’s Digital Gainer award (a 94% spike to 151,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan) and Streaming Gainer award (9.4 million U.S. Streams, up 74%, according to Nielsen BDS). At radio, the song increased 15% to 67.8 million listener impressions and holds at No. 1 for a third week on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
Beyonce’s jump keeps Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty,” featuring 2 Chainz, and Pharrell’s “Happy” at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. The latter track wins the week’s Airplay Gainer award with a 91% rise to 59 million in audience in the Jan. 29 – Feb. 4 tracking week. Eminem’s “The Monster,” featuring Rihanna, tumbles 1-4 after 13 consecutive weeks at the top.
John Legend reaches his highest position in nearly nine years as “All of Me” skips 7-5 in its 22nd week. His best showing on the list — and his only other single to reach the top five — was his breakout hit “Ordinary People.” It peaked at No. 4 in 2005.

“All of Me” also moves 2-1 on the Adult R&B airplay chart — his second chart-topper behind 2012’s seven-week reigning “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)” from the “Think Like a Man” soundtrack. “All Of Me” also jumps and 27-17 on the Hot 100, his best showing yet, surpassing, again, “Ordinary People” (No. 24 peak) and “Green Light” (No. 24).
Kid Ink’s “Show Me,” featuring Chris Brown, slips 5-6 in its 16th week while YG’s “My Hitta,” featuring Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan, moves 9-7 in its 19th. “My Hitta” is still building at radio and reaches the new peak of No. 6 on the Rhythmic airplay chart this week.
Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” featuring Majid Jordan, falls 6-8 as does Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “White Walls,” featuring Schoolboy Q and Hollis, 8-9. Remaining at No. 10 to close out the region is Robin Thicke’s smash “Blurred Lines,” featuring T.I. and Pharrell.
Elsewhere on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, K. Michelle makes a grand entrance as the Hot Shot Debut at No. 23 with “Can’t Raise a Man.” The second single off her debut album “Rebellious Soul,” released last August, sold 21,000 downloads (up 831%) to debut at No. 10 on R&B Digital Songs and garnered 798,000 U.S. streams (up 387%), entering R&B Streaming Songs at No. 19. The singer/reality TV star made news recently when she announced she would not be returning for the third season of VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.” Instead, she will be working with actor/director Idris Elba to bring “Rebellious Soul” to life as a musical.
On Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Beyonce’s self-titled release rules for an eighth consecutive week with 48,000 units (less than a 1% gain). Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “The Heist” steps 3-2 with a Grammy-related 62% boost to 29,000 pushing Eminem’s “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” down 2-3 with 21,000 (a 12% dip). Drake’s “Nothing Was the Same” holds tight at No. 4 with a 10% gain to 17,000 and Kendrick Lamar’s “good kid, m.A.A.d city” closes out the top five with a 7-5 slide (81% increase to 15,000, also Grammy-related).
The week’s Hot Shot Debut comes courtesy of Chattanooga, Tenn. newcomer Isaiah Rashad whose “Clivia: Demo” moves 9,000 copies to open at No. 9. The 22-year old emcee built his buzz by participating in the Smoker’s Club Tour alongside acts like Juicy J and Joey Badass in 2012. Last year, he inked with Top Dawg Entertainment, also home to Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q, and released the video clip for “I Shot You Down” which has been viewed 933,000 times on YouTube since its Sept. 20 premiere. On Jan. 27, he released the video for “Soliloquy” as promotion for Clivia and it has been viewed 186,000 times.
