Beyonce’s ‘Before I Let Go’ Becomes Her 30th Top 10 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart

Beyoncé earns her 30th top 10 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay with "Before I Let Go" and moves ahead of Mary J. Blige for second place among women.

Beyoncé earns a 30th career top 10 hit on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart as her cover of “Before I Let Go” moves 11-10 on the list dated June 15.

“Go” is an update of the 1981 hit single by Maze featuring Frankie Beverly that hit No. 13 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart (then known as Hot Soul Singles). The diva released the remake as a bonus track to her Homecoming: Live album in April, which contains her 2018 Coachella headlining performance.

The single ascends into the upper tier on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay as it picks up a 15% bump to 17.4 million in audience in the week ending June 9, according to Nielsen Music.

As Beyoncé collects her 30th top 10 song on the survey, she glides above Mary J. Blige’s 29 career top 10s to claim second place among all women since the chart began in 1993. Nicki Minaj, with 31, remains in front. Among all acts, Drake is the top 10 leader with 65 titles on his resume.

Here’s a full look at the acts with the most top 10s on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay ranking:

65, Drake
47, Chris Brown
47, Lil Wayne
35, JAY-Z
32, R. Kelly
31, Nicki Minaj
30, Beyoncé
30, Usher
29, Mary J. Blige
28, Ludacris

Beyoncé earned her first solo top 10 through a feature on then-boyfriend JAY-Z’s “03 Bonnie and Clyde,” a No. 6 hit in 2002. The pair then flipped the billing for their next teamup, 2003’s “Crazy in Love,” which became Beyoncé’s first of seven R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay No. 1s to date.

In addition to crossing the top 10 barrier on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Beyoncé’s “Go” duplicates the feat on the Adult R&B Songs airplay chart thanks to a 12-9 jump. On the latter, the song rallies with a 16% weekly gain in plays across monitored stations, enough to secure the week’s Greatest Gainer honor.
