Ben Taylor Named GM of Ticketmaster-Owned Front Gate Tickets

Ticketing veteran Ben Taylor has been named GM of Ticketmaster-owned Front Gate Tickets. Taylor is set to take over the helm for all client services, field operations, customer service, fulfillment, IT, accounting, business development and more for the Austin-based leader in music festival ticketing.

Taylor has been with Front Gate since 2007 where he helped develop the company from running a mobile box office and printing tickets out of the truck of his car for fan clubs to the digital age.

With Front Gate, Taylor has led the successful creation of a music festivals department, a fully integrated RFID system, fan engagement solutions for festival partners and sponsors, utilizing ticketing and technology for patron and staff safety, credential management and integration, and the development and implementation of cashless point of sale operations.

Taylor will take over for Maura Gibson, who formerly ran Front Gate Tickets. Gibson will be moving to an expanded role at Ticketmaster.

“Maura’s outstanding leadership and expertise have transformed Front Gate Tickets into the leading festival ticketing platform, and now, as Ben takes the helm at Front Gate, we’re excited to be broadening Maura’s responsibilities at Ticketmaster with a new role leading a portfolio of company initiatives across the entire organization,” said Ticketmaster North American president Amy Howe in a statement to Billboard.

Over the years, Front Gate has worked with major festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Electric Zoo, Electric Forest, Stagecoach, EDC, British Summer Time and more. Taylor has more than 1 million tickets under his belt for Lollapalooza Chicago alone.

Most recently, Front Gate has expanded services outside the U.S. and into Canada, Europe and Australia.

Front Gate had been owned by a joint venture between AEG and C3 Presents. It was acquired by Ticketmaster in 2015 after its parent company, Live Nation, purchased Austin-based promoter C3 Presents months before in late 2014.
