Becky G Dances Her Way to No. 1 on Latin Airplay Chart With ‘Baile Con Mi Ex’

The feat earns the singer her first champ as a solo artist.

Becky G scores her fourth No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart as “Bailé Con Mi Ex” leads the Sept. 10-dated ranking. It follows her three-week champ “Mamiii,” with Karol G.

The song advances from No. 7 to lead in its 15th week on the list with a 41% increase in audience impressions, to 9.1 million, earned in the U.S. in the week ending Sept. 4, according to Luminate. It evicts “Mayor Que Usted” by Natti Natasha, Daddy Yankee, and Wisin & Yandel, which falls to No. 5 after its one-week reign.

“Bailé” is the fifth single from Becky G’s second Spanish-language LP Esquemas, released via Kemosabe/RCA on May 13. It earned her a first entry and No. 1 on Latin Pop Albums, where it remained for eight weeks starting the May 28-dated list. The set concurrently arrived at No. 5 on the Top Latin Albums chart.

“Bailé” is Becky G’s fourth Latin Airplay ruler in her 19th chart visit. It arrives after the Mexican American led for three weeks through “Mamiii,” her collaborative effort with Karol G. Notably, it earns Becky her first No. 1 as a solo artist, unaccompanied by any other act.

Further, “Bailé” becomes just the third No. 1 by a female soloist in 2022, after two Karol G coronations: “Sejodioto” (Feb. 12) and “Provenza” (July 9). Plus, it becomes just the seventh song by a woman, unaccompanied by any other act, to lead Latin Airplay this decade (since 2020). Here’s a recap:

Chart Date, Title, Artist

  • Oct. 10, 2020, “Ay, Dios Mio!,” Karol G
  • Feb. 13, 2021, “Bichota,” Karol G
  • July 3, 2021, “Telepatia,” Kali Uchis

Beyond its Latin Airplay coronation, “Bailé” pushes 4-1 on Latin Pop Airplay also in its 15th week. Elsewhere, it moves 45-41 on the all-metric Hot Latin Songs chart where it takes the Greatest Gainer honors of the week.
