In the spirit of its “for DJs, by DJs ethos,” Beatport has announced a new subscription service for selectors, Beatport LINK.
Launched in beta on Tuesday (May 14), the service makes the digital music retailer’s entire catalog available for subcribers to directly stream audio files onto performance software. Alongside Beatport LINK, the Berlin-based company will also release a beta version of Beatport CLOUD, which includes features like track previews (through Beatport’s own Needle Drop Player), re-downloads of previously purchased tracks and a brand-new My Library section. There’s also something for beginners: Beatport LINK’s first performance software integration is available through Pioneer DJ’s WeDJ app, tailored to those just getting started on the ones and twos.
“The launch of Beatport LINK exhibits our commitment to creating the best possible experience for our expanding ecosystem of DJs, and we can think of no better partner than Pioneer DJ for the service’s first software integration. We are particularly excited to introduce the upcoming Offline Performance Mode, which firmly sets Beatport LINK apart from its competitors in the DJ market,” said Beatport CEO Robb McDaniels in a statement.
Throughout the remainder of 2019, further Beatport LINK integrations will be revealed, including a partnership with Pioneer DJ’s rekordbox performance software in the fall. In its full version, Beatport LINK will also offer professional DJs the ability to mix in an offline performance mode.
