‘Twice’ as Nice: Beach House Scores Second No. 1 on Top Rock & Alternative Album Charts

'Once Twice Melody' also rules the all-format Top Album Sales list.

Beach House rules Billboard‘s Top Rock Albums chart for a second time with Once Twice Melody, which debuts atop the March 5-dated survey.

The set starts with 24,000 equivalent album units earned in the Feb. 18-24 tracking week, according to MRC Data, with 20,000 units from album sales.

The duo of Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally, which formed in 2004, previously crowned Top Rock Albums with Depression Cherry in September 2015. In between, its pair of full-lengths, Thank Your Lucky Stars and 7, peaked at No. 4 (November 2015) and No. 3 (May 2018), respectively.

Melody also opens at No. 1 on Top Alternative Albums, where it’s Beach House’s second leader, after Bloom in June 2012. Cherry peaked at No. 2, Stars at No. 4 and 7 at No. 3.

As previously reported, the new album also becomes Beach House’s first No. 1 on the all-format Top Album Sales chart, surpassing the No. 5 peak of Cherry. On the Billboard 200, it debuts at No. 12, the band’s fourth top 20 entry; its best, Bloom, hit No. 7.

Melody‘s title track concurrently lifts 18-17 on Adult Alternative Airplay, after reaching No. 15 in early February. Upon its debut, it became Beach House’s first Billboard radio chart entry.
