ATEEZ Earn Best U.S. Sales Week & Return to Multiple Chart Peaks With New EP

ATEEZ's "Treasure Epilogue : Answer to Action" secures the band as a K-pop act to watch in America.

ATEEZ is starting the year with another sales high.

The K-pop boy band’s newly released Treasure Epilogue: Action to Answer EP debuts at No. 5 on Billboard‘s World Albums chart after earning 3,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Jan. 9, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. Of that sum, 1,000 copies were traditional units. (Notably, this marks the first week World Albums is ranked based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units like the Billboard 200 chart. Units are comprised of album sales, track equivalent albums and streaming equivalent albums.)

ATEEZ now tie their highest rank on World Albums after their Treasure EP.2: Zero to One also hit No. 5 around this time last year. The octet has sent all five of their Treasure-themed albums to World Albums: the original Treasure EP from 2018 (which eventually peaked at No. 9 on the chart in late last year despite a 2018 release), followed by the previously mentioned EP.2 (No. 5 peak) and Treasure EP.3: One To All (No. 8 peak in summer 2019) and the Treasure EP.Fin: All to Action full-length album (No. 6 peak last year). To date, Treasure is the top-selling ATEEZ album in America with 10,000 copies sold so far.


Elsewhere, Treasure Epilogue also gives ATEEZ their latest entry on Heatseekers Albums, a tally far fewer K-pop acts are able to enter. The new EP debuts at No. 19 marking the band’s fourth entry on the chart. So far, the guys have peaked at No. 7 on Heatseekers Albums so far with Treasure EP.2.

ATEEZ also return to their best position on Billboard‘s World Digital Song Sales chart. The band’s celebratory new single “Answer” enters the tally at No. 6, selling 1,000 copies in the week ending Jan. 9, tying ATEEZ’s late-2018 single “Wonderland” for their highest-charting track on World Digital Song Sales. Another new Epilogue song, the tribal-influenced hip-hop cut “Horizon,” also bows on this week’s chart at No. 18 showing growing interest in the band’s work beyond the lead single.


With new sales highs, returns to their best chart positions as well last week earning a new peak on the Social 50 chart (No. 3 behind sensational K-pop boy bands BTS and Seventeen on last week’s chart dated Jan. 11, 2019) and multiple dates sold out on their upcoming arena tour in the U.S. (which Billboard exclusively broke last week), ATEEZ is truly starting off 2020 as a must-watch K-pop act.
