New albums from Ariana Grande and Tamar Braxton are heading for the top of next week’s Billboard 200 chart.
Grande’s debut release, “Yours Truly,” has a good chance of bowing at No. 1 — so say industry sources. The set is forecast to sell between 110,000 and 120,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, Sept. 8.

Braxton’s “Love and War” — her second release and first since 2000 — is on course for a start of around 100,000 to 110,000. That number may fluctuate as the week progresses, due to possible publicity generated by the second season premiere of Braxton’s reality TV series “Tamar & Vince” (Sept. 5).
The new Billboard 200 chart’s top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 11.
If Grande bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, she’ll be the first female artist to do so with a debut album since January of 2010, when Ke$ha’s “Animal” opened at No. 1.
Grande’s album is led by the Billboard Hot 100 top 10 single “The Way,” featuring Mac Miller. The song debuted at No. 10 in April, and then rose to No. 9 two months later.
Other albums aiming for high debuts next week include Nine Inch Nails’ “Hesitation Marks,” John Legend’s “Love in the Future” and Jaheim’s “Appreciation Day.” Of those, the biggest will be Nine Inch Nails, which could bow at No. 3 next week with around 100,000.
