Apple Pairs With Common Sense to Make Kid-Friendly Podcasts Easier to Find

Apple Podcasts has partnered with Common Sense Media to make it easier for parents to find appropriate podcasting content for their children, the companies announced today.

Dubbed the Kids & Family experience, the curated podcasts will feature recommendations by age group as well as thematic collections of new and popular shows across topics and formats from creators including Tinkercast, American Public Media, Gen-Z Media, Pinna, Tumble, Highlights, WNYC Studios, Rebel Girls and Nickelodeon. Each show is selected by Common Sense Media using the same approach it has long brought to recommendations for TV, movies, books, games and apps.

At launch, the experience includes four thematic collections: Common Sense Media Picks, featuring “all-time favorites”; One More!, featuring “mysterious tales and action-packed dramas”; Kids Know Best, made up of shows selected by children; and Story Time, featuring “story-driven shows that transport kids into a world of imagination.”

Now available in the U.S., the Kids & Family experience will be updated monthly with new content and additional thematic collections around important historical and cultural moments including Women’s History Month and back to school season.
