In honor of Andrea Bocelli’s stunning performance at Milan's Duomo, Billboard highlights the Italian opera singer’s history on the Top Latin Albums chart…

Andrea Bocelli continues to be a trending topic Monday morning, following his breathtaking Music for Hope: Live from Duomo di Milano concert on Easter Sunday (April 12).

In the nearly 30-minute-long performance, which aired live on YouTube, the Italian opera singer, songwriter, and record producer performed five of his timeless songs, including “Amazing Grace” and “Sancta Maria,” plus a rendition of “Ave Maria” from inside the mesmerizing Milan Cathedral.

The video also captured aerial views of the empty Italian streets, which has been under lockdown for several weeks to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

“I believe in the strength of praying together. I believe in the Christian Easter, a universal symbol of rebirth that everyone, whether they are believers or not, truly needs right now,” Bocelli said during the live set.

“Thanks to music, streamed live, bringing together millions of clasped hands everywhere in the world, we will hug this wounded Earth’s pulsing heart, this wonderful international forge that is the reason for Italian pride. The generous, courageous, proactive Milan and the whole of Italy will be again, and very soon, a winning model engine of a renaissance that we all hope for. It will be a joy to witness it, in the Duomo, during the Easter celebration which evokes the mystery of birth and rebirth,” he added.
