Most major streaming platforms now have an offering to help creators understand their business on the service: There’s Apple Music For Artists, Spotify For Artists, YouTube For Artists and SoundCloud’s Premier program.
Today (March 13), Amazon Music is following a similar path with the launch of a new mobile app, titled — you guessed it — Amazon Music For Artists.
The app, which is now available globally on iOS and Android, offers artists near-real-time streaming performance data and information about their fan base. That includes a global view on streams for both tracks and albums; insight into how songs are performing with Alexa on Amazon Music (called the “Daily Voice Index”) and on curated playlists and stations; a detailed look at where in the world fans are streaming and more.
There’s also a companion website, where artists and their teams can learn more about the app and find additional resources. CD Baby has partnered with Amazon Music for the launch, meaning any artist who is distributed through CD Baby can get expedited access to join.
The resources available on Amazon Music For Artists are comparable to those of competitors — though one major difference is Amazon’s “Daily Voice Index,” where artists can understand how fans are requesting their music by artist, album, song, and lyric.
Check out the user interface, below. Amazon Music recently surpassed 55 million customers globally across all its streaming offerings, while subscriptions to its premium Amazon Music Unlimited service grew by more than 50 percent over 2019.
