In the tracking week ending Aug. 6, the set earned 23,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. Of that sum, 20,000 units were via album sales.
Morissette claims her second Top Rock Albums No. 1 and first since 2012’s Havoc and Bright Lights, her last LP of all-new material until Forks. (Top Rock Albums started in 2006.)
The new LP also bows at No. 3 on Alternative Albums. On the all-genre Billboard 200, it debuts at No. 16, marking Morissette’s seventh top 20 entry. She reigned in her first appearance with Jagged Little Pill, for 12 weeks in 1995-96.
The new set’s “Ablaze” starts at No. 34 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. It eclipses the No. 39 debut and peak of lead single “Reasons I Drink” in December 2019 and becomes Morissette’s highest-charting hit on the list, which began in 2009.
“Ablaze,” which Morissette performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on July 30 and whose official video premiered Aug. 4, also debuts at No. 2 on Rock Digital Song Sales with 5,000 downloads sold, marking Morissette’s highest peak on the ranking, which began in 2010.
“Ablaze” will be the second single promoted to radio from Forks. “Reasons I Drink,” peaked at No. 8 on the Adult Alternative Songs airplay survey in February, becoming Morissette’s highest-charting song on the chart since “Everything” led for four weeks in 2004.
