A-Trak Holds Steady, X Ambassadors Blast on Billboard & Clio Music’s Top Commercials, Powered by Shazam
For the second month in a row, A-Trak and Milo & Otis' "Out the Speakers," featuring Rich Kidz, maintains its lead at No. 1 on Billboard & Clio Music's Top Commercials powered by Shazam.

Using tagging data from Shazam as well as sales and streaming information tracked by Nielsen Music, Billboard and Clio Music partner each month to present a chart ranking the top songs in commercials. Rankings exclude any song that has recently charted within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100.

For the second month in a row, A-Trak and Milo & Otis’ “Out the Speakers,” featuring Rich Kidz, maintains its lead at No. 1 on Billboard & Clio Music’s Top Commercials powered by Shazam. The track started at No. 2 on the chart in January after its Feb. 1 Super Bowl debut in an advertisement for Mountain Dew’s Kickstart drink. The track maintains its rank despite decreasing in Shazam tags, sales and streaming over this month’s tracking period (the weeks dated March 1 to March 29).
Following “Out the Speakers,” Roger Miller’s “Oo-De-Lally” jumps 4-2 with a 360 percent increase in sales (to 15,000 U.S. downloads) and a 344 percent increase in streams (601,000) from it’s featured spot in an ad for Android, a part of Google’s “Be together. Not the same.” campaign. The 42-year old song was originally used in the soundtrack of Disney’s 1973 film Robin Hood. Miller was a Grammy Award-winning country and children’s singer/songwriter (he died in 1992.)
The first new entry on the chart is X Ambassadors’ “Renegades,” blasting onto the list at No. 3. The band is prominently featured in the advertisement, where they drive the eponymous Jeep model (Jeep Renegade) to a gig and perform the track live. The song, released on March 3, has sold 18,000 downloads in the tracking period. The track is also charting on Hot Rock Songs (and is the first solo entry for the act on the tally), as it climbs 43-32 on the list dated April 18. The act previously visited the list with “Jungle,” a collaboration with Jamie N Commons that reached No. 10 last year. The group is signed to Alex da Kid’s KIDinaKORNER label and lead vocalist Sam Harris co-wrote Rihanna’s “American Oxygen.” Though the Victoria’s Secret ad that features David Essex‘s “Rock On” premiered in the last week of the tracking period (March 24), the track scores a No. 7 debut on the list. After the spot was released, the track (released in 1973) jumped 2,259 percent in sales and 480 percent in streaming the week ending March 29th. The song by the British musician reached No. 5 on the Hot 100 in 1974.
