6ix9ine Reportedly Posts Bail After Surrendering in Texas

As part of his NYC bail stipulations, 6ix9ine made good on his promise to head to Texas where he posted $5,000 in bail shortly after midnight on Monday (July 16).

Following his arrest in NYC last week (July 11), 6ix9ine was finally awarded bail by a Manhattan judge on his third attempt to get off Rikers Island Friday evening (July 13). As part of his $150,000 bail stipulations, the Brooklyn rapper promised to surrender in Texas, where he’s wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for a misdemeanor assault charge.

According to TMZ, the 22-year-old made his way to Harris County, Texas to post bail in person. He reportedly surrendered shortly after midnight on Monday (July 16) and posted $5,000 bond. His arraignment is set for Friday, but TMZ‘s sources say he could actually make an appearance while he’s in town Monday.

The charge stems from an incident at the Galleria Mall in Houston last January. The alleged victim, Santiago Albarran, claims 6ix9ine choked him after demanding the teen to delete a video he took of the “Gummo” artist. The 16-year-old’s parents reported the incident to police when they discovered red marks on Albarran’s neck, supposedly courtesy of 6ix9ine.

The misdemeanor assault charge carries a maximum sentence of one year. Billboard has reached out to 6ix9ine’s reps for comment.
