The 2019 Billboard Live Music Summit and Awards will return to the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills on Nov. 5-6 for two days of high-level panels, artist interviews, and executive Q&As featuring some of the biggest names in music, comedy and live entertainment. The annual event, which celebrates its 16th year in 2019, brings together industry insiders, top decision-makers, power players, and artist managers.
“We’re excited to be back in Los Angeles, the epicenter of the concert business and one of the fastest growing live music markets in the world,” said Dave Brooks, Billboard’s senior correspondent for touring and live entertainment. “At its core, the Live Music Summit is a marketplace for ideas where more than 100 speakers, artists and power brokers come together to shape the future of the live experience. Music is a driving force for change and this year’s Summit will examine how commerce and culture can be a force for good in communities around the world.”
Last year’s Summit and Awards included curated artist discussions with Shawn Mendes, New Kids On The Block, Sebastian Maniscalco, Andrew McMahon, and Maddie Poppe, and an awards presentation honoring John Mayer and more. Mayer took home the Summit’s top honor, the Legend of Live Award, and delivered a moving speech about his incredible touring team who have helped him put on over 1,000 shows. The 2018 Summit also featured discussions on the future of the business with some of the biggest agents, promoters and managers in music. Last year’s keynote discussion, “Unmanageable: A Conversation With Industry Legend Irving Azoff Moderated by His Son and Business Partner Jeffrey Azoff,” aired on SiriusXM and was one of the most listened to programs on that channel.
