Throughout the week, Latin stars Christina Aguilera, Camilo, Maluma, Chayanne, Romeo Santos and more stopped by the Billboard Latin Music Week photo booth, where they posed for candid pictures that captured them minutes before going onstage for a panel.
Pop star Aguilera played a track from her upcoming EP La Luz during the Tuesday, Sept. 27, Premiere Party. During the event, she also discussed the project, which she says is her most personal to date.
During his Superstar Q&A also on Tuesday, Colombian singer-songwriter Camilo reminisced with friends Eduin Caz and Edgar Barrera about how they wrote the hit “Alaska,” sang together and even showed off a few dance moves.
Moderated by Billboard’s Leila Cobo, as expected, Camilo was set to take the stage with his go-to collaborator, songwriter and producer Barrera but there was a surprise in store for Camilo himself and the audience. When Barrera joined him onstage with Caz – the leader of Grupo Firme – in tow.
Meanwhile, Chayanne went solo to his Superstar Q&A, where he talked about not releasing an album in eight years. “I’ve been releasing a few singles here and there. I’ve been doing different things, but I haven’t worked on the album,” he said. “I was on tour, but it was interrupted by the pandemic. I had four dates left. I haven’t released an album due to a couple of circumstances. However, I take a long time doing an album. I like to really listen to the songs and analyze them.”
There was also Santos’ riveting Q&A, during which he sang a Backstreet Boys song and made the unexpected announcement that he was donating $100,000 for relief to those affected by Hurricane Fiona in Puerto Rico. The donation will be part of Billboard’s efforts to gather donations for the Red Cross for hurricane relief on the island.
