Sasha Velour Teams Up With Opening Ceremony for LGBTQ-Inclusive NYFW Show: View the Gallery

"I think it's been on of the most challenging things I've ever done," Velour told Billboard. With the approval of Opening Ceremony's Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, the Brooklyn-based queen handpicked every element of the show, from lighting, to the script, to casting. "It is literally a dream come true. It's a testament to what hard work and a very strong point of view of how things should be will lead to eventually."

Troye Sivan was spotted bopping along to Berlin-based drag performer Hungry's performance to Robyn's "Monument."

Drag Race star Shea Couleé brought backup dancers to perform "Sweat Dreams" by Weslee.

Hayley Kiyoko was seen comforting misty-eyed model Munroe Bergdorf after Hungry's emotional performance.

"I hope this is what the future looks like," Sasha Velour exclaimed at the start of the show. "Not just on your stages or on your screens, but every day in your life, being uplifted just like this -- belonging just like everyone else and looking fucking fabulous."

Nicki Minaj was seen filming Drag Race star Jiggly Caliente as she high-kicked her way through an energetic performance.

While she wasn't a part of the show, Drag Race star Aja made an appearance at the event, cheering her sisters on from the crowd.

"Drag performers have been seen as a low form of entertainment for a while and to be in this space where we're being treated like valuable performers is world-changing," Velour gushed after the show. "And I hope that will multiply for everyone -- not just for me and this cast, but all of the incredible drag performers out there."

"Icy Girl" singer Saweetie was spotted in the crowd.

Drag Race star and makeup artist extraordinaire Miss Fame walked the Opening Ceremony runway.

Pose star Dyllon Burnside was in attendance.

Berlin-based drag performer (and makeup artist to Bjork) Hungry performed "Monument" by Robyn as Troye Sivan bopped along from the front row.

Crazy Rich Asians breakout Awkwafina was among the celebrity guests.

The show featured more than 40 LGBTQ models and drag performers.

The show culminated in a surprise appearance from Christina Aguilera, who was joined by Sasha Velour, Jiggly Caliente, Hungry, Shea Coulee, Miss Fame, West Dakota and her drag doppelganger Farrah Moan. She belted out her verses from "Fall in Line," while the queens lip-synced to Demi Lovato?'s verses. The evening ended in a dance party interspersed with drag performances, with cocktails courtesy of Svedka and a playlist that included crowd favorites from Ciara and Azealia Banks.
