A new generation of Latin artists has taken the Billboard charts by storm, but they're all in the best time of their lives for more than just career-related reasons: many are in their 20s. From Maluma to Virlan Garcia and Becky G, get to know 20 Latin artists in their 20s who are ruling music today.
Maluma has already performed many sold-out shows around the world. This year, the Colombian singer scored eleventh number one on Latin Airplay and his album F.A.M.E peaked at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart.
Brazilian singer Anitta is one of the artists who recently debuted in the Hot Latin Songs Chart, teaming up with one of the genre's hottest stars, J Balvin, for her first hit on the chart, "Downtown." Anitta is working on her first Spanish-language album.
Cardi B, 26
Although Cardi B was born in the United States, she definitely carries her Latin heritage everywhere. The Bronx native broke through in a big way in 2017, as she became the third act ever -- and the first rapper -- to place her first three Billboard Hot 100 chart entries in the chart's top 10 simultaneously, joining only The Beatles and Ashanti in achieving the feat. In 2018, she channeled her Latin roots with the help of J Balvin and Bad Bunny on the chart-dominating "I Like It."
Ozuna was crowned as the artist of the year at the 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards. His album Aura debuted at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums.
Bad Bunny, 24
Bad Bunny has seen five songs chart on the Hot 100 in 2017-18 alone, including the No. 1 hit "I Like It" along with Cardi B and J Balvin. The “Chambea” singer gave a new direction to Latin trap, creating a commercial sound for the genre and collaborating with many artists such as Enrique Iglesias.
Prince Royce, 29
So far, Prince Royce has scored four No.1 s on Hot Latin Songs: “Corazon Sin Cara” peaked at No, 1 on Mar. 12, 2011 (ruled for 2 weeks); his Mana collaboration “El Verdadero Amor Perdona” peaked at No. 4 on Oct. 10, 2011 (led for 4 weeks); “Las Cosas Pequeñas” peaked at No. 1 on chart dated Mar. 17, 2012; and "Darte Un Beso” peaked at No. 1 on chart dated Sept. 07, 2013, ruling for 14 non-consecutive weeks.
Becky G, 21
"Mayores" definitely made a statement in Becky G's career. At 20 years old, she notched a No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart, becoming one of only five women to achieve that feat.
Adriel Favela, 25
So far, Adriel Favela has scored two Regional Mexican Albums top 10 debuts: Tome Nota debuted at No. 3 on Jul. 7, 2015 and Azul Se Mira debuted at No. 7 on Aug. 5, 2017.
Christopher Vélez (CNCO), 23
At 23, Christopher Velez is the oldest member of CNCO, the successful male group that's ruling the Latin charts. The La Banda winners have four top 20 Latin Airplay hits to date, including "Tan Facil," which hit the chart's summit in May 2016.
Richard Camacho (CNCO), 21
Also part of CNCO, Camacho is the only member from the Dominican Republic.
Zabdiel De Jesús (CNCO), 21
Zabdiel de Jesus is the third CNCO member in his 20s. Besides the Hot Latin Songs achievement, the group has also debuted twice on Top Latin Albums: Primera Cita, which debuted at No.1 on Sept. 17, 2016 (one week at No. 1) as well as their latest album CNCO, which debuted at No. 1 on Apr. 21, 2018 (one week at No. 1). Both albums landed in the top 40 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Karol G, 27
Karol G is breaking all the barriers in urban music. She has established that women can also be powerful. Her song "Ahora Me Llama" with Bad Bunny reached the Top 10 of Hot Latin Songs.
Farruko has debuted twice on Top Latin Albums. The first time was with Farruko Presents Los Menores on the chart dated Nov. 15, 2014 (leading for 2 weeks) and after a year his Visionary hit No. 1 on the Nov. 14, 2015-dated chart.
Luis Coronel, 22
Regional Mexican singer Luis Coronel has had two songs on the Top 10 of the Hot Latin Songs chart: “Mi Niña Traviesa” peaked at No. 7 on the Aug. 3, 2013-dated chart, and "Tenerte” peaked at No. 9 on the Aug. 23, 2014 chart.
Sebastián Yatra, 24
Sebastián Yatrais scored his first No. 1 on Latin Airplay with “Robarte Un Beso,” a collaboration with Carlos Vives, on the chart dated January 7.
Sofia Reyes, 23
Reyes has a total of four entries on the Latin Pop Airplay chart. One of those reached the top: “Solo Yo” peaked at No. 1 on the April 23, 2016-dated chart. Her single “1 ,2, 3” featuring Jason Derulo and De La Ghetto peaked at No. 24 on the April 28, 2018-dated Hot Latin Songs chart.
Virlan Garcia, 20
Virlan Garcia's “Mi Vida Eres Tú” peaked at No. 9 on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart dated Feb. 3, 2018.
Joss Favela, 28
Favela's album Hecho a Mano debuted at No. 6 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart dated May 28, 2016.
Colombian singer Feid made his debut on the charts after collaborating with J Balvin on “Que Raro." The song peaked at No. 16 on the Tropical Airplay chart and on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart on Dec. 24, 2016.
Leslie Grace, 23
Leslie Grace is the first Latin singer to join the K-pop genre, collaborating with Super Junior for "Lo Siento," which debuted in April. She also has two top 10 entries of her own on Hot Latin Songs: “Will U Still Love Me Tomorrow” (peaked at No. 2 on Oct. 27, 2012) and “Be My Baby” (peaked at No. 8 on the Aug. 3, 2013-dated chart).
