For the 2017 BET Awards, fans experienced an array of exciting performances, including sets by Future and Kendrick Lamar for their track "Mask Off," DJ Khaled, Quavo, Lil Wayne, and Chance the Rapper's infectious "I'm the One" and the highly-anticipated New Edition tribute. While the evening was about celebrating black excellence in the arts, sports, and music industries, we identified a group of stylish male entertainers who stood out from the awards show pack. Below are the five best-dressed male guests at the 2017 BET Awards.
Above: Big Sean dons a sporty red velour tracksuit by Swiss clothing brand Bally, a classic white tee, and a complementary pair of white Gucci Ace sneakers with the brand's signature red and green stripes on the side. Elevating his laidback and relaxed fit is a pair of diamond earrings, diamond chains, watch and bracelet.
Grammy nominee and Fast and the Furious actor Tyrese donned a sleek and perfectly tailored black tuxedo with a glittering lapel, black bow tie and gold-rimmed aviator sunglasses. He broke up the monotone color scheme with a classic brown leather watch.
Before French Montana hit the stage to perform his latest single “Unforgettable” feat. Swae Lee, he walked the red carpet in a red embroidered patchwork reversible coat from Gucci’s SS 2017 ready-to-wear collection. The silky satin statement piece boasts plenty of gold leaves, colorful florals, images of fish and even a Donald Duck motif. To keep the rest of the outfit laid-back, French rocked a clean white tee, medium-dark wash jeans and brown suede Chelsea boots.
Demetrius Shipp Jr.
Actor Demetrius Shipp Jr.--who portrayed legendary rapper 2Pac in the biopic All Eyez on Me--dons a burgundy Ermenegildo Zegna suit and matching dress shirt with black Jimmy Choo loafers.
Billboardcover stars, Hot 100 hitmakers, and as of late, rap super-group, Migos, immediately brought the live audience to their feet with a lively performance of 'T-Shirt' 'Bad and Boujee' and 'Congratulations' after beating out A Tribe Called Quest in the Best Group category. While they transformed the Microsoft Theater's stage into an icy tundra, complete with après ski-appropriate puffer jackets, they eventually cranked up the heat with their rowdy performance where all three members showed off a style that's never complete without their signature stunna shades and layers of diamond chains. Quavo rocks a custom red, white and blue Unravel Project motorcross jacket with matching pants. Off-Set is sporting a baroque jewel-toned blazer coverd in colorful crystal florals with sequin cuffs and metallic pathwork pants and a black Saint Laurent belt. While Takeoff keeps things fresh and clean with his embellished all white look and zebra print belt.
