Harry Styles' self-titled debut album might be well on its way to a No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200, but his sartorial preferences are also creating waves. From stepping out in "millennial pink" to donning an indigo wool Gucci cashmere coat in his "Sign of the Times" visual, the pop star's most recent style moves, particularly his liking for a good suit, are anything but ordinary. Below are seven times Harry Styles donned the menswear staple, ranging from his One Direction days to the release of his debut solo album (May 12, Columbia Records).

The Brit Awards, 2012
Even as a fresh-faced teenager, Styles understood the importance of a good suit. For the 2012 Brit Awards in London, he went for a three-piece charcoal gray number paired with a white dress shirt and a large black bowtie. One Direction won in the "British Single" category for their infectious pop track "What Makes You Beautiful."

British Fashion Awards, 2014
Even at 19 years old, One Direction's youngest member made serious waves on the fashion front. In 2013, he was named the winner of the British Style Award at the annual British Fashion Awards and returned in 2014 to present actress Emma Watson as his stylish successor. For the evening's ceremony, Styles wore a black-and-red pinstripe suit from Lanvin's Fall-Winter 2014 collection paired with a solid black dress shirt and patent leather black dress shoes.

The 43rd Annual American Music Awards, 2015
Toward the end of One Direction's five-year career, Styles discovered his new fashion muse: the one and only Alessandro Michele, who singlehandedly transformed Gucci into the high-fashion brand of the moment. For the 2015 AMAs, Styles wore a '70s-inspired white suit covered in intricate black roses, a black button-down and black loafers. The flared floral trousers are a departure from his usual look of super-skinny pants and sharp jackets.

While shooting promotional images for his self-titled album, Styles borrowed from the ladies and wore a double-breasted blue velvet suit from Hillier Bartley's Fall-Winter 2016 collection, pairing the look with a crisp white button-down shirt as he lounges back drenched in water.

The Today Show Performance, 2017
Styles isn't afraid to rock pink. He's been spotted in the shade on multiple occasions, most recently, while promoting his solo Saturday Night Live debut in April. While taking to the ‘Today’ Show stage in Midtown Manhattan, Styles paired his bespoke '70s-inspired millennial pink suit from English designer Edward Sexton with a simple black button-down, balancing out the cotton candy shade. During his bluesy-rock-driven set, he performed two original songs from his debut solo project and “Stockholm Syndrome” from his One Direction days.

His "Sign of the Times" Release, 2017
On his way to do radio promo at BBC Radio Studios in London, Styles went for a loose-fitting red and white plaid Vivienne Westwood suit, a white Saint Laurent shirt and black women’s Gucci loafers. While his fit was easygoing, his interview with good friend and BBC Radio One host Nick Grimshaw took a turn towards awkward when Grimshaw brought up Harry’s ex Taylor Swift in regards to his breakup ballad, “Two Ghosts.” While Styles jokingly called for his manager to help him out with a response, he ultimately stayed coy about who inspired the track, looking dapper while deflecting the question.
