According to the internet and this potentially shady Instagram post by Badgal RiRi herself, Rihanna stole the show at the Met Gala 2017 red carpet with a surreal, petal-like piece straight off the Comme des Garçons’ Fall 2016 runway. The avant garde look, an homage to Comme’s designer and celebrated artist of the night Rei Kawakubo, came together with a pair of thigh-high strappy heels that took her an hour to get into. The style icon then wore another pair of extravagant, lace-up heels on May 3 while out in New York, solidifying the intricate footwear as one of the many staples in her style. While the singer is known for her Fenty Puma "Creepers", we rounded up 6 times Rihanna has rocked over-the-top, lace-up heels.
Out in New York on May 3, Rihanna rocked a black, patent leather pair of Unravel Project boots by Ben Taverniti. Rihanna styled the thigh-high lace-up boots — a pair she’s been spotted wearing before — with an oversized black sweater and trench coat.
