Rihanna has become a sartorial champion for up-and-coming designers, putting names like Guo Pei (2015 Met Gala dress), Adam Selman and Shayne Oliver of Hood by Air (2016 VMAs Vanguard performance) on the map. "Rihanna has a ravenous appetite for fashion," said her longtime stylist Mel Ottenberg in an exclusive interview with Billboard. Together, the two have created one-of-a-kind looks by mixing both menswear and womenswear pieces of well-known and emerging designers, with her most recent ensemble in CR Fashion Book blending Dior and Dilara Findikoglu for a contemporary Marie Antoinette feel. Here are some rising designers, most of whom are women and people of color, with a Badgal Riri co-sign.

Jacquemus was started in 2009 by 26-year-old, self-taught designer Simon Porte Jacquemus after the death of his mother. He became one of the youngest designers to show during Paris Fashion Week.
