Lady Gaga on American Horror Story as the Countess.
Lady Gaga "Poker Face"
Early-stage Gaga certainly liked to dress up, but her kookiness hadn’t quite reached Mother Monster proportions when she released “Poker Face” in 2008. The nails she sported in the video for the hit featured rhinestones and crazy colors, but were of a more manageable length than what was to come.
The lack of embellishment makes these nails seem almost timid by Gaga standards, but the searing red and stiletto tip is still a statement maker -- and crazy without being totally unwearable for regular folk. Gaga wore them with a bright blue wig at the CFDA Awards in 2011 for a delightfully electric color pairing.
Lady Gaga "Judas"
As if the length weren’t crazy enough, Gaga’s nails in the “Judas” music video each appear to be little works of art on the tip of her fingers -- or are literally attached to one another by chains, as seen later in the video. Practical? No. Very cool looking? Yes.
“Too much” is not part of the lexicon, as far as Gaga is concerned. She evidenced her preference for all things maximal with this performance look that combined multicolored hair, drawn-on face art, plenty of bling, and of course, intricately artful stiletto nails.
At the launch of her Fame fragrance in 2013, Gaga wore a set of acrylic black-and-gold nails painted by NYC-based artist Aya Fukuda. The set was praised highly by fans—and one went so far as to buy a single used one at an auction for $12,000.
Lady Gaga "Bad Romance"
The video for “Bad Romance” features plenty of Gaga-isms, from scary-sexy juxtapositions to crazy outfits to odd, futuristic settings. Perfectly in keeping with all these themes are Gaga’s odd wire screen-tipped nails at the beginning of the video.
