What movies are on our radar for 2015? Here are the 15 most anticipated music films of the year. (All dates subject to change.)

The Boy Next Door, Jan. 23: Okay okay, it's not exactly a music movie. But it does star Jennifer Lopez. Lopez plays Claire Peterson, a lonely divorcee who begins an affair with ... the boy who lives next door, embodied by the handsome Ryan Guzman. Unfortunately, their relationship takes a dangerous turn, threatening Claire's livelihood and family. Sure it sounds cheesy, but this romp looks like delicious fun.

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, Feb. 6: Look, we can't say we're exactly excited about the movie itself, but rather for the music -- Pharrell has reunited NERD and penned three songs for the upcoming film -- "Squeeze Me," "Patrick Star," and "Sandy Squirrel."

Fifty Shades of Grey, Feb. 13: The steamy trailer for the adaptation of the kinky bestseller featured Beyonce’s “Haunted,” as well as a new version of Queen Bey’s “Crazy in Love.” But Beyonce isn’t the only music fan who is all tied up with Christian Grey – Rita Ora will portray Christian Grey’s sister in the film.

the-last-5-years-movie-still-2015-billboard-650

The Last Five Years, Feb. 13: It’s well-established by now that Anna Kendrick has no problem crushing a movie musical (See: Pitch Perfect, Into the Woods), which is why her latest, an adaptation of the beloved Jason Robert Brown cult musical that traces the entire run of a relationship from both individual’s perspectives, has got theater fans so excited. The fact that Broadway star Jeremy Jordan (Smash) co-stars/co-tackles the beloved score is only a bonus.

Frozen short, March 13: If Disney has their say, we'll never let Frozen go. And why would we? The new short debuts in front of Cinderella, so until then we'll just have to listen to the soundtrack on repeat while pretending we live in far away ice castles.

Furious 7, April 3: Fast cars, karaoke king Vin Diesel, Ludacris cracking wise, strong women and a cameo by Iggy Azalea? We'll be there from the start to the finish line.

pitch-perfect-2-2015-still-billboard-650

Pitch Perfect 2, May 15: Even if you haven’t seen the aca-amazing original (and if not, get on that, stat), you’ve probably heard about Anna Kendrick’s performances of “Cups” from the film, which somewhat improbably climbed up the Billboard Charts following the original film’s release. Can lightning strike twice? Fans sure hope so – and likely can’t wait to sing along to all the a cappella once again.

Item 8 of 15

entourage-movie-2015-billboard-650

Entourage, June 5: Adrian Grenier as Vincent Chase plays a mutant DJ in one of the movies within this movie, which brings everyone's favorite show about an A-lister and his free-loading friends to the big screen. Seriously though, a mutant DJ.

Magic Mike XXL, July 1: There’s just one question to ask when contemplating this summer’s Magic Mike sequel: What songs are Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello, etc. going to take their clothes off to? Okay – it’s not the first question, but after the original film gave fans routines to such classics as “Pony” and “It’s Raining Men,” we can’t wait to see what the gang has up their sleeve – or rather, in their man thongs – this time around.

Straight Outta Compton, Aug. 14: We haven't seen an official trailer yet, but Ice Cube previewed a short clip during one of his concerts that made its way online. And the grainy footage has us looking forward to more of the biopic that chronicles the emergence of N.W.A, despite an early casting call scandal.

hunger-games-jennifer-lawrence-2015-billboard-650

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 2, Nov. 20: So far the Hunger Games films have given us memorable songs from Taylor Swift, Christina Aguilera, Kanye West and, most recently, even franchise star Jennifer Lawrence. Lorde’s curation of the Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack -- as well as her own memorable tune -- took the music of the franchise to new emotional heights, and we can’t wait to see what and who Part 2 has in store.

Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, TBD: The first authorized documentary of the Nirvana frontman -- daughter Frances Bean is one of the producers -- features never-before-seen home movies, interviews with Courtney Love, Dave Grohl and more, and promises to give fans a deeper look into the troubled rock icon's tragically short life. The film premieres at Sundance and will later appear on HBO.
