Billboard caught up with Ga In less than a week after "Gentleman" premiered. "I never thought I would get so much attention," the K-pop star comments.
Ga In is a member of popular female quartet Brown Eyed Girls as well as a successful solo singer and actress.
Ga In made a splash on the charts with single "Bloom" peaking at No. 2 on the K-Pop Hot 100 and a recent Top 40 hit with "Brunch" featuring Hyung-woo.
According to Ga In, PSY chose her as his co-star because she has a strong "Asian appeal" which she credits to her eye shape. "I had insecurities about my eyes since I was young, but look how it turned out to benefit me," she laughs.
"I think this is a good opportunity to center and humble myself," Ga In says of the global spotlight now on her. "I want to continue to make music with Brown Eyed Girls that everyone can relate to...as a solo artist--I don’t want to chase after the trend."
