After Weezer surprised fans during weekend one of Coachella, bringing Tears for Fears (Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith) onto the main stage to perform their hit “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” they kept the momentum going with a rendition of the song on Monday’s (April 15) episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Smith sung the first verse of the rock anthem, with Orzabal joining him on the chorus. Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo then took over the second verse, and they ended with three-part harmonies.
“Everybody Wants to Rule the World” appears on Weezer’s Teal Album of covers, which was released digitally Jan. 24 and is composed entirely of cover songs including Toto‘s “Africa,” A-ha‘s “Take On Me” and Michael Jackson‘s “Billie Jean.”
