Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig made the announcement during the band’s Saturday night (Aug. 4) set at Lollapalooza in Chicago. The as-yet untitled release follows 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City.
Last week, the group’s long-rumored leap to Sony was confirmed in a Sony Corporation financial statement, which named a Vampire Weekend release in a list of “noteworthy projects” for the quarter ending Sept. 30.
The band was previously signed to XL Recordings.
In late May, Vampire Weekend wrote on Instagram that their follow-up to 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City is “94.5% done.”
