Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots delivered a stunning, piano-led performance of four songs for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge on Friday (Nov. 2). Instead of taking place at the radio’s studios in London, Joseph performed from the band’s Columbus, Ohio, hometown at Newport Music Hall.
The stripped-back performance sees Joseph alone at a grand piano as the stage lights illuminate his frame. Following the typical Live Lounge format, Joseph played piano versions of “Ride” (from 2015’s Blurryface), as well as “My Blood” and “Neon Gravestones” from their latest album Trench before launching into a beautiful rendition of Damien Rice’s “9 Crimes.”
Twenty One Pilots are currently embarking on their Bandito World Tour, which will make stops in the United States and Europe before returning for a home coming show on June 30 next year.
