After over a decade of silence since their last album, 2006’s 10,000 Days, Tool have finally shared new music. In a new clip posted to their Facebook page, the band has unveiled a dark new bit of instrumental music, in part to advertise the band’s previously-announced “Music Clinics,” a kind of live “dissection and performance” of the band’s material by its creators.
The instrumental in itself is dark and eerie, with layers of ghostly, spidery guitars becoming more aggressive as the track comes to a head, in keeping with the group’s dim, churning vibe. Though an official single still seems far-off, maybe there’s still hope that more material is still on the way soon. Catch the band’s “Music Clinics” later this spring when drummer Danny Carey and bassist Justin Chancellor hit the road.
