Tool headlined the final night of the 2018 Rock on the Range festival in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday (May 20) and gave a heartwarming tribute to deceased Soundgarden front man Chris Cornell. According to a report from Alternative Nation, Tool singer Maynard James Keenan told the crowd after the band’s opening song that they were dedicating their entire set to the friends and family of the late Audioslave rocker.
Keenan than supposedly went on to address the thinning patience of his fans, who have been anxiously waiting 12 years for a new Tool album. “We fear the end of your patience,” Keenan said. “Things are progressing. Slow as f—, but progressing.” The band took to Facebook at the beginning of May to share that they had finished recording Danny Carey’s drum parts.
