Since their formation in Athens, Georgia in 2004, rock trio The Whigs have recorded five studio albums and toured with acts like The Black Keys, Kings of Leon, and MGMT. On Nov. 11, 2016, they released their first ever live album, Live In Little Five, recorded entirely at Aisle 5 in Atlanta’s Little Five Points district.
“We’ve been a band for fifteen years,” lead singer Parker Gispert told Billboard. “People have said to us throughout the years that we really should do a live album.”
The band recorded eight songs from previous records, including 2008’s critically acclaimed Mission Control, and two new songs slated for studio release in the future. One of those two previously unreleased tracks, “Cleaning Out the Cobwebs,” has gotten the video treatment. The live performance showcases the band’s instrumental talent, laid back vibes, and garage rock spirit.
