Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. didn’t take kindly to a group of thieves trying to steal his wife’s wallet and green card.
The Strokes Confirm They Are Working on New Music
As seen in the surveillance footage below, the musician charged the would-be thieves and retrieved his wife’s stolen goods. “Oh wow, I did get angry, didn’t I?” a surprised Hammond comments in the video.
The Strokes were scheduled to perform at Live Out in Monterrey, Mexico, Saturday (Dec. 12). The rock band also stopped by the city’s Victoria Records studio to rehearse and record, Stereogum reports.
A photo of the Strokes in Victoria Records was recently posted on Instagram by the studio’s Victoria Morales.
Earlier this summer, Hammond was interviewed on Billboard’s Alt In Our Stars podcast to discuss his new solo album, Momentary Masters. Topics included Snapchatting, scuba diving, men’s fashion and overcoming dark times.
