The National announced a brand new album, I Am Easy To Find, on Tuesday (March 5) via a trailer for the project’s companion short film.
Directed by Mike Mills, the short film (also titled I Am Easy To Find) stars Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander and will be set to music from the album, though won’t function as a traditional music video for the project. The black-and-white trailer describes the film as “a life in 164 moments,” which will serve as a standalone sibling to the veteran rockers’ new LP.
I Am Easy To Find will be the band’s eighth full-length studio album and is a follow-up to their Grammy-winning 2017 LP, Sleep Well Beast, which took home the award for best alternative music album.
In support of the project’s release, The National will also be embarking on a sprawling world tour, which begins this April with five sold-out, intimate dates in major cities around the globe billed as “A Very Special Evening With The National.”
The remainder of the tour will kick off starting June 11 at Philadelphia’s Mann Center. Courtney Barnett and Alvvays will open on select dates.
