Alt-rock band The Maine are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their formation (band-iversary, anyone?) this Saturday with 8123 Fest: A 10 Year Celebration of The Maine.
True to their Arizona roots, 8123 Fest — named after their artist collective — is being held in Phoenix, where they can be surrounded by family and friends.
“We never expected to be a band for 10 years, and seeing as our parents wouldn’t throw us a party we decided to throw our own,” frontman John O’Callaghan tells Billboard. “This festival is dedicated to the dedicated folks that make up the 8123 family and have graciously allowed us the opportunity to make noise for a decade. And partly, we needed an excuse to rage with all of our friends from out of town.”
In addition to their 10 years together, the group has more to celebrate. The Maine just announced they finished recording and mixing their sixth record Lovely, Little, Lonely — which they chronicled via a YouTube series called “Miserable Youth” — to be released Apr. 7.
The festival will offer performances from artists like The Summer Set, This Century, Brighten and more, as well as a pop-up shop and an afterparty following Saturday’s sets.
