The countdown to new music from The 1975 continues. As the mysterious clock on the English rock band’s website ticks down to midnight on Friday (June 1), new details have emerged about the group is up to.
On Monday (May 28), The 1975 posted a photo on social media of what may or may not be the cover of the band’s upcoming album. The image shows group members Matt Healy, Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald and George Daniel wearing black suits and sitting in front of a large blue door. The words “MFC — A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships” appear at the top.

BBC Radio 1 has been running ads teasing The 1975’s appearance on Annie Mac’s show Thursday night (May 31) from 7-9 p.m. Frontman Matt Healy confirmed in a tweet Monday that the group would be premiering the new song called “Give Yourself A Try” during the program.
In early May, The 1975 launched a countdown clock on their website after announcing their next album would be titled Music for Cars. It’s unclear if that is still the title of the upcoming release. The clock features a cinematic score swelling in the background with a scattered collection of flashing images, which include A.I. robots, a Cardi B music video, and children laughing.
