The 1975 announced on Wednesday (Dec. 11) that they are rescheduling their upcoming European headlining tour in order to finish their next album.
The British rockers shared their new tour dates — which have now been pushed to October — on Twitter, with their record label, Dirty Hit, simultaneously issuing a statement explaining the decision. “Due to the time needed to complete the recording of the upcoming album ‘Notes on a Conditional Form’ we have made the decision to move The 1975’s EU tour from February 2020 to October 2020,” the label tweeted. “We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and hope that everyone can make the new shows. We understand that this will be a cause of upset but rest assured the delay will make for the best shows possible.”
The newly rescheduled tour dates are now set to kick off October 3 at Barcelona’s Sant Jordi Club, with four new shows added in Paris; Warsaw; Vienna; and Tallinn, Estonia to accommodate disappointed fans. The trek will now end on Nov. 1 in Oslo, Norway.
Notes on a Conditional Form, the band’s follow-up to 2018’s A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships, is slated for release on Feb. 21. The LP has been preceded by singles “People” and “Frail State of Mind,” both of which peaked within the Top 20 of the Hot Rock Songs chart (at No. 15 and No. 17, respectively).
