Want to own the fur coats worn by Jack Black and Kyle Gass on Tenacious D‘s 2006–2007 Pick of Destiny Tour? Or maybe their corresponding lizard and wizard costumes are more your style. Whatever your preference, Tenacious D just launched an auction where fans can snag some memorabilia and support the victims of the Nov. 13 Paris attacks in the process.
“Our friend Josh Homme asked if Tenacious D would participate in the awareness and fund raising campaign in the wake of the recent attacks,” Tenacious D told Billboard. “We were eager to join the cause. This is our small but heartfelt contribution.”
Proceeds from the Charitybuzz auction — featuring 13 artifacts from Tenacious D lore — will go towards Homme’s Sweet Stuff Foundation, which is donating proceeds to benefit the victims of the attacks, which took 130 lives, 89 of them at the Eagles of Death Metal’s Bataclan concert.
Previously, Eagles of Death Metal raised funds for the Sweet Stuff Foundation by asking artists to cover its track “I Love You All the Time.” Artists like the Pearl Jam, Florence + the Machine and Kings of Leon have all taken part, with publishing income going to the cause.
