St. Vincent is headed back into our ears. The singer pops up in a new viral poster campaign promoting what appears to be her upcoming follow-up to 2017’s MASSEDUCTION, in which she poses in a retro-70s burgundy suit while rocking a blonde bob.
The teaser for the album reportedly called Daddy’s Home features copy that reads, “St. Vincent is back with a record of all-new songs. Warm Wurlitzers and wit, glistening guitars and grit, with sleaze and style for days. Taking you from uptown to downtown with the artist who makes you expect the unexpected. So sit back, light up, and by all means have that bourbon waiting because… DADDY’S Home.” The ad, which features the logo for the singer’s Loma Vista Records label, says the record will be out on May 14.
A spokesperson for St. Vincent had not returned a request for comment on the album title or release date at press time, though the singer/guitarist tweeted a cryptic message on Wednesday night appeared to wink at the news, writing, “Nothing to see here.” Back in December, St. Vincent confirmed that her seventh studio album was coming this year, tweeting, “The rumors are true. New record ‘locked and loaded’ for 2021. Can’t wait for you to hear it.”
