The Smashing Pumpkins are following their End Times 2015 summer tour with a 19-date North American trek featuring original drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and Liz Phair as the opening act.
The Pumpkins are hyping this bundle of ‘90s alt-rock nostalgia as an “acoustic-electro” tour. Titled In Plainsong, the 19-date romp opens March 22 in Portland, Ore. and wraps April 20 in Houston. A complete itinerary is available below.
According to a press release, The Smashing Pumpkins will commence work on a new album “inspired by the sounds explored in the new acoustic setting” after the tour is over. Whatever work comes out of these sessions will follow the band’s 2014 album Monuments to an Elegy.

This time around, the Pumpkins’ lineup will include Billy Corgan, Chamberlin, and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Schroeder. Chamberlin has not been a full-time member since 2009, though he did drum on the band’s 2015 live dates.
Liz Phair will open all 19 dates. This marks the singer-songwriter’s first U.S. tour in six years.
Tickets go on sale Feb. 5. Citi is sponsoring the tour and its cardholders will have exclusive access to a pre-sale starting Feb. 2 at 9 a.m. (ET).
