A couple of top-selling rock bands are hitting the road together this fall. Today (Aug. 10), Breaking Benjamin and Shinedown announced a joint tour, beginning Oct. 16 at Wichita, Kan.’s Intrust Arena.
The tour runs over a month — through Nov. 24 — and hits a variety of arenas and amphitheaters across the United States, with the two bands splitting headlining duties.
It’s good timing for both bands; Breaking Benjamin released its latest album Dark Before Dawn on June 23, and Shinedown’s next disc, Threat to Survival, is due Sept. 18.
According to a press release, “limited pre-sale tickets” will be made available to fan club members tomorrow (Aug. 11). For details, head over to Shinedown’s official fan club site and Breaking Benjamin’s official site.
Breaking Benjamin’s latest moved 141,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 28, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 135,000 were pure album sales — the group’s best week ever, and good for a debut atop the Billboard 200 albums chart. Meanwhile, Shinedown’s new single “Cut the Cord” currently sits atop the Mainstream Rock Songs chart.
