A viral challenge is sweeping social media and leaving the names of iconic bands hilariously altered in its wake.
On Thursday (May 21), Twitter users jumped on board the “Ruin a Band Name by Changing One Letter” challenge, transforming the likes of The Who and The Clash into “The Why” and “The Class.” While actor Colin O’Donoghue beautified The Cure as “The Cute,” English electronic duo Sleaford Mods cheekily sent Thin Lizzy into the past tense by changing their name to “Then Lizzy.”
Rock bands weren’t the only genre amusingly lampooned by the challenge either; hip-hop acts weren’t safe from fans’ endless creativity either, including Run-DMC (“RUN DMV”), A Tribe Called Quest (“A Tribe Called Queso,” which arguably makes the collective even better), Public Enemy (“Public Enema”) and more.
Check out some of the best and funniest ruined band names below.
