Twenty One Pilots have made a career of being a closed-loop, two-piece band. But on Sunday night (Aug. 25) during their headlining slot at the Leeds Festival in England, they opened the door a bit and let in a third member, if only for one song.
After performing the tune the night before at the Reading Festival, 21P surprised the crowd at Leeds by bringing out Post Malone to help them on a cover of Oasis‘ towering Britpop anthem “Don’t Look Back in Anger.”
Malone, who announced the Sept. 6 release of his Hollywood’s Bleeding album on Monday (Aug. 26), walked out on stage with an acoustic guitar after 21P singer Tyler Joseph began the song as a piano-only crowd singalong. Stepping to the microphone, Malone — in shorts and a tie-dye T-shirt — took over on the second verse as the crowd helped him out, shouting along word-for word.
