
Members of a Nashville-based Pavement cover band had what’s sure to be a career highlight last week when they were joined in performance by actual members of Pavement.
Pavement Talks Deepest B-Sides, New Rarities Collection: ‘We Tried to Keep it Mysterious’
The Crooked Corners’s show at local venue the Stone Fox featured surprise guests Pavement percussionist/vocalist Bob Nastanovich and drummer Steve West, as Spin reports. For the that band bills itself as “The Ultimate Pavement Experience,” this is probably as close to the real Pavement experience as they’ll get.
During the set, Nashville Scene reports Nostanovich told the band “It was always so awkward onstage [in Pavement]. There was sort of a misery and tension — I don’t see that [here]. What I do see is I see you guys playing our songs better than us.” Pretty cool.

The guest appearances weren’t totally random. Nostanovich hosted his regular trivia night at the bar earlier that night.
